World Bank Proposes $69M to Support Refugee Education in Ethiopia

The World Bank has proposed an additional $69 million to expand Ethiopia’s Education Transformation Operation for Learning (ETOL), with a focus on integrating refugee students and supporting host communities.

The funding $50 million from IDA and $19 million from the PROSPECTS Trust Fund will strengthen access, improve learning outcomes, and enhance school support in refugee-hosting areas.

Implementation will be led by the Ministry of Education in coordination with RRS and UNHCR.
